In continuation with my series of viral images which have dominated the web in the past I just had to include the queen of google herself as well as her vagina. Britney Spears has remained as one of the most googled terms in the world but also somehow held onto her status as a pop star icon. I personally don’t really mind Brintey, and while I wouldn’t compare this painting with Courbet’s “Creation of the world”I do think that she is at least kind of funny. I mean check out this famous video of her stoned out of her mind babbling on about time travel. I could deal with that, I think much more so than, say, getting drunk with Christina Aguilera.

Here in Courbet’s classic painting “L’Origine du monde” (or the origin of the world) we are assaulted with a tightly cropped vagina. Courbet got away with painting this by entitling it so. Originally painted in 1866 we are either shown how prudish we’ve become, or how nothing has changed at all. BTW Courbet absoltely Pwns me on this one. I love the absolute lack of care for lighting in the Britney photo. In the past at least Courbet tried to make things look beautiful and erotic. Now, it’s like a 15 year old snapping pictures to show his buddies. Hey look! There’s a pussy! haha!
